Technical Editor / Writer

Contract Position
$55.75-$59.28/Hr

Responsibilities:
- Create a wide range of technical documentation adhering to Military Specifications.
- Develop and validate Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMs), Depot Maintenance Work Requirements (DMWRs), Repair Parts and Special Tools Lists (RPSTLs), procedural art, and illustrated graphics.
- Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to ensure timely and cost-effective project completion.
Qualifications:
- Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (preferred).
- Clearance Requirements: Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance (if applicable).
- Years of Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in technical writing/editing, particularly in military or defense sectors.
- Expertise with Military Specifications: MIL-STD-40051c, MIL-STD-2361, MIL-PRF-63002, and MIL-PRF-63033.
- Technical Manuals: Proficient in creating and editing Organizational, Intermediate, and Depot level Technical Manuals (TM’s), including Operation, Maintenance, Fault Isolation Procedures, and Illustrated Parts Breakdowns (IPB).
- Software Proficiency:
- XML, SGML, and XSLT experience.
- Arbortext Editor (5.4 or higher), UltraEdit (or similar tools).
- Adobe Acrobat Pro, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint), and WindChill CMS.
- IETM Development: Strong background in creating Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMs).
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Instructor Certification: Previous experience or ability to obtain certification from any branch of the U.S. Armed Services (preferred).
