TECHNICAL SALES MANAGER, PAINT & INTERIOR - CHATTANOOGA
At West Star Aviation, we thrive when our customers thrive. We are currently looking for a Technical Sales Manager for Paint and Interior in Chattanooga. Primary responsibilities will be to target paint and interior upgrade opportunities and to identify sales leads, and provide customers, Regional Sales Managers, Technical Sales Managers, and Program Managers with technical analysis in preparation of routine to complex work packages. It is preferred that the Technical Sales Manager be onsite. Standard business hours are 8am – 5pm, but the expectation is to work as needed to accomplish the sales objectives which may include working longer hours, customer entertainment, dinners in the evening and attending industry trade shows or events. This position will report to the Director of Technical Sales.
What You’ll Do:
- Collaborate with Business Development and Sales to achieve annual sales objectives.
- Utilize Salesforce.com, AMSTAT, Corridor and other aviation databases to manage and identify sales opportunities.
- Proactively collaborate with Regional Sales, Technical Sales Managers, and other Modification Sales Managers regarding specific opportunities in their region, site and/or program.
- Call up customers to inquire about the status of their paint and/or interior upgrades and organize internal schedule of sales opportunities based upon the probability of capturing the opportunity.
- Provide customers with technical support including technical requirements, proposal terms and conditions plus other data related to customer inquiries.
- Colloborate with Designer/Design team to help ensure customers wants and needs are met. Be present during specification sessions with customers.
- Prepare sales presentations, contract reviews and proposals to ensure the successful outcome of transactions. This may be completed independently or in conjunction with other departments as needed.
- Communicate with Contract Administrators to answer questions and provide additional input on RFQ’s to include reviewing quotes to ensure accuracy of technical data.
- Conduct a routine cost analysis of completed jobs by doing an internal review of historical costs vs current proposals.
- Monitor company conformance to original proposals and maintain continual review to ensure all work scope, terms and conditions are met.
- Attend industry trade shows and vendor events as necessary to maintain existing relationships as well as develop new relations.
- Establish relationships with key vendors in support of future system upgrades, materials and customers to target.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Strong technical knowledge of various methods to modify an aircraft to include an ability to talk about different interior reconfiguration and paint methodologies.
- Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and other necessary software systems.
- Must be able to travel for customer opportunities when necessary and possess a valid drivers license with a clear driving record.
