Tampa Bay Aviation (TBA) is looking for Professional Individuals for an immediate work opportunity with our Flight School Team. Interest in flight training in the Tampa Bay area has exploded! Come be a part of our seriously motivated team in Clearwater Florida where the weather is always warm and the flight training is conducted year-round. We train under both Parts 61 and 141 in the Private, Instrument and Commercial. Charter opportunities are also available through our sister company to selected instructors.
We hire contractor instructors who are 1099 partners at a competitive pay scale starting at $27.50 an hour for the base curriculums and $35 an hour for advanced training programs. Progression mobility is available through Check Instructor and Assistant Chief opportunities. Additionally, an individually designed bonus package is offered based on individual applicant’s employment time commitment.
Experience and Skills Requirements:
- Must meet all SFAR 73 requirements to teach in both Robinson R22s and R44s.
- Flight weight must be less than 195 lbs.
- Must have the piloting and people skills necessary to be an effective teacher.
- Must be a team player able to provide good customer service and present a positive image to our customers.
- Must possess excellent organizational and cognitive skills.
- Must be able to read and understand, and interpret instructions and information using the English language.
- Must be able to effectively communicate new concepts and skills so students can demonstrate an understanding once explained.
- Must be able to pass and maintain a FAA 1st or 2nd class medical exam and maintain that same physical condition in order to continue working as an instructor.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Maintain the quality (pass rate) of flight training at or above 80%.
- See that all training department goals are met, to include pass rate, training completed within an appropriate time, and ensuring student's training records are completed on time, or make recommendations for corrective action to be taken.
- See that each assigned student is scheduled properly for ground and flight training sessions needed.
- Maintain the flight training standards as outlined by both FAA and Tampa Bay Aviation (TBA) while ensuring that the policies and procedures of the Student Safety Procedures are maintained.
- Ensure that the assigned student's training record and folder are kept in accordance with TBA and FAA policy.
