Aircraft Painter
Greenville, SC
Contract Position
Our Support in Greenville, South Carolina site is the home of the F-16 Fighting Falcon production line and provides nose-to-tail aircraft modification, maintenance, repair and overhaul services for both military and civil aircraft. For more than 35 years, the site has provided world-class and affordable sustainment services to thousands of aircraft, such as the C-130, P-3, KC-10, and C-9.

Responsibilities:
- Coat surfaces of aircraft with paint, lacquer, epoxy, resin or other material, using brushes, rollers, spray guns and other devices.
- Remove old paint from aircraft, using liquid paint remover and scraper.
- Smooth surface with sandpaper and steel wool, roughen aluminum surfaces with acid solution and steel wool to insure that paint adheres to surface, masks and covers portions of surfaces not to be painted,
- Paint insignia, letters or numerals on aircraft surface, using stencils.
- Work RAM coating, and various other paint shop tasks
Qualifications:
- Must be willing to work Plastic Media BlastingPainting, paint prep activities, and all aspects of aircraft painting
- Must be able to wear a respirator
- Areas of expertise:
- Aircraft Media Blast with 2-4 years of experience
- Technical Skills:
- Read and interperet paint drawings for aircraft stencils with 2-4 years of experience.
- Use proper painting techniques, mixing ratio’s, correct paint viscosity, identification of improper and/or unacceptable finish application with 2-4 years of experience.
