Unique Skills:
The Industrial Hygiene Intern anticipates, recognizes, evaluates and controls health and safety hazards within an employee's work environment. Partner with EHS to perform on-site inspections and air monitoring; supervise health and safety programs to ensure conformance with federal, state and local standards; partner with operations personnel and site management to implement hazard controls. Create sustaining programs within the organization to better promote safety, Prevention through Design principles, and ultimately to ensure a safe environment for employees.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Health (B.S.E.H.), Public Health (B.S.P.H.), Environmental Studies, Environmental Engineering (B.S.E.) or Master's in Public Health (MPH).
- Prefer minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 and must list the GPA on the resume.
- Resumes without GPA will not be considered.
- If you are a Freshman, please list your high school GPA.
- New graduate students, please list your undergraduate GPA.
- Must graduate after August 2024 or must be planning to move on to the next level of education. For summer 2025, we will accept spring 2025 graduates only if you have been accepted into a Master's/PhD program for fall 2025.

- Must possess prioritization skills and the ability to work on several projects simultaneously
- Pursuing Environmental Health, Occupational Health, Safety, or Sustainability related degree with interest in pursuing knowledge and experience in Industrial Hygiene
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct field studies to analyze processes occurring in the workplace; identify potential health and safety hazards.
- Gather data on workplace conditions and processes using a variety of test equipment and sampling methods; document and evaluate employee exposure in accordance with federal, state and local standards.
- Suggest solutions to workplace hazards or health risks identified during audits, air monitoring, and/or field studies.
- Participate in ISO14001/OHSAS18001 audits with internal and external entities; evaluate for gaps within the management system; make recommendations to address any issues.
- Participate in Continuous Improvement or Sustainability initiatives within the EHS organization and throughout the manufacturing environment; integrate principles into recommendations or solutions for hazard concerns.
- Assist in ongoing efforts to promote safety awareness with all levles of employees in multiple working environments.
- Have reliable transportation for the duration of the internship.
- Must be able to work at least 12 weeks, 40 hours per week, in person between May/June - August/September 2025.
