The annual base salary or/ hourly pay range for this position is ($61,600.00 - $77,000.00). Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell is seeking a highly qualified Sr. Research & Development Technician in our Golden Valley, MN location to apply their talent and experience to unique research applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Setup, test, and troubleshooting of digital, analog, and mixed signal electronics to create new test methods, techniques, and processes.
- Setup, calibrate, and run instrumentation supporting both R&D and manufacturing Quality Control processes.
- Execute testing and data collection.
- Build, integrate, and test electromechanical components and custom cryostats.
- Assist in maintenance and troubleshooting of cryogenic and vacuum systems, chilled water, and liquefied gas systems.
- Moderate lifting up to 40 lbs. with or without accommodations, working with hand tools, on ladders, or using heavy lift equipment as required.
- Collaborate with scientists & engineers in a cross functional team environment.
YOU MUST HAVE:
- 3+ years of experience in electrical testing and troubleshooting.
- Proficient computer skills including software troubleshooting and dataset organization.
- U.S. citizenship is required due to contractual requirements. Applicants must also be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance. Continued employment is contingent upon successful completion of security processing
WE VALUE
- Associates degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
- Trade license valid in the state of Minnesota.
- Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following areas: electromagnets, high vacuum, cryogens; data acquisition and programming (python, C++, LabVIEW); assembly and interface drawings, wiring schematics, conceptual sketches; representative sampling and sample preparation techniques, dataset interpretation; powder metallurgy, metal powder molds, or sintering; soldering.
- Demonstrated experience operating one or more of the following equipment/instruments: Complex custom fixtures, surface area analyzers, optical profilometers, optical microscopes, multimeters, and common hand tooling.
- Experience maintaining and calibrating equipment and troubleshooting for general repairs.
- Familiarity with chemical, physical, compressed gas, and cryogenic laboratory safety protocols.
- Self-motivated individuals able to work under minimal supervision.
