As an aircraft Seats Technician Crew Chief, youll guide a skilled team in refurbishing and restoring aircraft interior components, ensuring every seat and surface looks and performs like new. PRIMARY RESPONSBILITIES:
- Lead a team of seat technicians in the refurbishment, repair, and reconfiguration of aircraft seating systems and cabin components.
- Oversee workflow for seat teardown, inspection, cleaning, repair, foam replacement, upholstery, reassembly, and installation.
- Ensure all interior work meets OEM specifications, customer requirements, and FAA regulatory standards.
- Inspect completed work for fit, finish, quality, and functional performance, ensuring every detail meets high MRO standards.
- Coordinate with Planning, Engineering, Quality, and Materials teams to secure parts, tooling, and technical data needed to support project timelines.
- Review and interpret engineering drawings, seat manuals, service bulletins, and maintenance documentation to direct accurate work execution.
- Troubleshoot interior component issues and guide technicians in resolving discrepancies efficiently.
- Maintain real‑time project visibility by tracking progress, identifying delays, and adjusting staffing or workflow to meet turnaround time (TAT) goals.
- Provide hands‑on technical support when needed, modeling best‑in‑class craftsmanship and attention to detail.
- Coach, mentor, and develop technicians, promoting a strong safety culture, continuous improvement, and pride in high‑quality interior work.
Top candidates will possess:
- High school diploma or GED
- 5+ years of experience in aircraft interior, seat refurbishment, or upholstery work within an MRO or aviation maintenance setting
- Demonstrated leadership experience guiding technicians or acting as a lead/crew chief
- Strong understanding of aircraft seat components, materials, mechanisms, and OEM specifications
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, engineering drawings, work instructions, and service bulletins
- Skilled in upholstery techniques, foam shaping, stitching, leather/vinyl work, and component reassembly
- Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to producing high‑quality, precision workmanship
- Strong communication skills with the ability to coordinate with customers, inspectors, planners, and engineering teams
- Working knowledge of FAA regulations related to aircraft interiors and cabin safety
Other requirements include:
- Ability to routinely lift up to 50 lbs., work in confined spaces and in noisy environments
- Ability to occasionally travel for work assignments
- Ability to maintain a tool inventory in alignment with shop requirements
- Ability to obtain and retain an airport AOA badge
- Ability to work overtime and various shifts as business needs require

The base hourly range for this role is $35.00 to $45.00 per hour. The pay range provided is a good faith estimate representative of experience levels.
