Quality Auditor (Full Time)

Essential Job Functions
Performs internal Quality audits.
Ensure detailed audit checklists and audit schedules are developed, utilized and completed as planned.
Implement steps in audit preparation and planning, such as: verifying audit authority, determining the purpose, scope, type, requirement to audit against, and identifying the resources necessary, including the size and number of audit teams.
Responsible for creating and managing internal Corrective Action Reports identified from audits and ensures root cause, corrective action/preventive action, and corrective action effectiveness is tracked.
Responsible for ensuring mutually agreed upon solutions are developed to address audit findings and confirm the solutions are effectively addressing the concerns identified
Ensure that high risk nonconformances are appropriately identified and communicated for action(s) to be taken
Works from complicated drawings, handbooks, specifications, FARs, QM, engineering/tooling/rework orders, sketches, and written/verbal instructions.
Develop reports and presentations to support status and trends observed through the audit program.
Collects and analyze data required to determine status of discrepancies in production and report to management using various matrices.
Promotes and supports continuous improvement activities.
Assists in training activities, as needed.
Must be able to work as a collaborative team member and in some cases lead a small team to resolve small scope validation issues.
Serve as an additional liaison during FAA, Customer, and other regulatory visits.
Perform other related duties as required.
Minimum Position Qualifications

Education and Experience
Bachelors degree in technical and / or quality area, (Quality, Engineering or Manufacturing, Aeronautical or Aerospace) preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience
At least three years of experience in a quality capacity in a manufacturing organization.
ASQ Certification as Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) and AS 9100 Quality Auditor training preferred
Strong working knowledge of manufacturing process and quality systems preferred
Working knowledge of Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) requirements preferred
Experience working with a recognized Quality System AS9100, ISO 9001:2000, QS 9000, or FAA part 21 preferred
General knowledge of cross-functional business operations knowledge systems.

Mental Demands
Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) Ability to interpret drawings. Employee must be accurate and thorough in detailed tasks with good organization skills and an advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office (specifically Excel and database) computer software programs to perform the duties in this position. Experience with investigative / analyst background methodology strongly preferred.
Employee must be comfortable making decisions or recommendations relating to audits performed using his or her own discretion and independent judgment.
Ability to foster collaborative relationships, to work well under pressure, to organize and synthesize new information, and prioritize tasks. Possesses critical thinking, analytical skills and flexibility. Ability to multi-task. Required detailed attention to work in an environment where interruptions need to be controlled. Demonstrates sensitivity to customer needs and expectations.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to both office and plant environments. May be exposed to odors, chemical agents, dust, fumes, gases, sharp objects, hazardous or moving equipment, wet slippery floors, and extremes in temperature and humidity.
Interacts regularly with various staff and employees, and occasionally with vendors, suppliers, community members and regulatory agency representatives.
Travel and overtime are required when necessary.
