Plumber-Pipefitter (Full Time)
Department: All Openings, Administration
POSITION SUMMARY:
Install, repair, and maintain pipes, valves, fittings, drainage systems, and fixtures in structures. Collaborate with general contractors, electricians, and other construction professionals. Follow building plans and blueprints. Respond to, diagnose, and resolve plumbing emergencies.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Possess a strong sense of urgency.
Receive/complete work assignments, pertinent paperwork and enter remarks in EAM system.
Diagnose diverse service issues, obtain any replacement parts, and be able to fully explain what the issue is and what is needed to correct.
Install, repair, and maintain pipes, valves, fittings, drainage systems, and fixtures
Collaborate with general contractors, electricians, and other construction professionals.
Read and follow building plans and blueprints.
Respond to, diagnose, and resolve plumbing emergencies.
Perform routine inspections of plumbing and drainage systems.
Keep accurate records of time spent working, description of work performed and materials used.
Establish or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of the product.
Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase the efficiency of the shop, department, or work crew.
Prepare complex prints to indicate new/modified systems.
Respond to trouble calls.
Initiate orders for materials or equipment to effect repairs.
Solder, braze, and/or welds as necessary.
Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists and train lesser experienced employees in solving work problems.
Perform scheduled maintenance.
Maintain all necessary records, files, and reports.
Conduct work in a clean, neat, and professional manner.
Perform other related duties as required
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This job has no supervisory responsibilities; however, may be required to train and assist other employees.

Education and Experience
High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED).
8-10 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
Must have experience with waste piping, sanitary drainage and drainage venting
Natural Gas and Liquid Petroleum Piping and Venting Systems
Must have experience with water distribution lines/systems
Skilled in the use of hand and power tools used in the plumbing trade
Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and safety practices
Ability to read and follow blueprints and rough drawings
Familiarity with PVC, CPVC, PEX, cast iron, and copper
Effective oral communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to complete projects unsupervised and unassisted
Excellent problem-solving skills
Attention to detail and ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously
Proficiency in basic mathematics and conversion of measurements
Familiarity with Fire System is a plus
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Must obtain and maintain Florida Plumbing License Requirements or Uniform Plumbing Code (UPC) National Standard Plumbing Code (NSPC)
Individual must be certifiable for a forklift within the first 90 days of employment.
