Position Summary
Position Summary:
The Order Picker is responsible for accurately and efficiently preparing parts and components (kitting) for assembly and various other departments. This role involves locating components from the inventory stores and ensuring the correct items and quantities are selected based on work orders. The Order Picker also helps with stock replenishment, labelling, and maintaining inventory accuracy.
Responsibilities
Job Duties:
- Kitting parts and components for assembly and various other departments.
- Monitoring stock control systems and processing orders based on first-in-first-out (FIFO) priority.
- Accurately pulling inventory stock items from the shelves based on number, size, color, quantity, and quality requirements.
- Ensuring timely delivery of kitted work orders meet production needs based on customer demand.
- Keeping records of completed work orders.
- Developing a basic level of product knowledge.
- Tracking and overseeing stock replenishment of components and raw material.
- Periodically auditing physical stock levels and tracking discrepancies.
- Maintaining a clean and organized workspace utilizing 5S Lean methodology.
- Requires team members to be flexible in cross-training and developing skills to assist in other areas such as shipping & receiving to satisfy business needs.
- Involves working with others and developing teamwork skills.
- May occasionally work in and out of a clean room environment.
- May require overtime hours on weekdays or weekends, when applicable and planned for.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Education and/or Experience:
- High school diploma or GED.
- 6 months of related experience in work order kitting.
Reasoning Ability:
- Must have ability to follow verbal and written instructions as needed.
- Must be accurate and detail oriented.
Working Conditions:
- Must adhere to proper materials handling procedures using personal protective equipment which will include, but is not limited to, protective eye wear, gloves, and hair/beard nets.
- Must maintain a high level of health and safety standards.
Physical Requirements:
- Requires standing and walking for long periods of time, lifting and carrying materials weighing up to 25 pounds, bending, reaching, kneeling, and crouching.
