Position Summary:
The successful Metallurgist candidate will supervise and plan the metallurgical aspects of the process by establishing policies and procedures that standardize and align our operations; conduct analysis to identify and implement continual improvement activities; and represent the Company with our customers, suppliers, and certifying agencies. Must be a US citizen to be in the position.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- To supervise the metallurgical aspects of the company’s products from raw materials to final processing and subsequent shipment to customers.
- Conduct metallurgical investigations relating to process control and product development
- Provide technical support to sales staff and potential customers to ensure the Company meets their specification or enquiry requests including specification reviews.
- Select and raise Purchase Specifications for Raw Materials which will give correct quality trends and material problems.
- Develop customer contacts and act as Technical back up when required
- Technical report writing and analysis of data
- Investigation of failures and in house problems
- Carry out Research and Development programmers in conjunction with supervision on new materials and/or component shapes which may eventually become production parts
- Coordination of issuing of Qualification/Validation reports
- Metallography of product
- Knowledge of FMFA modelling techniques
- Disposition of material on non-conformance issues
- To maintain standardization status for parts
- Training other team members as and when required
Required Skills:
- Excellent computer skills
- Knowledge of Planning System, Quality System and Accounts in order to liaise with Production Personnel.
- Good communication/interpersonal skills
- Able to make decisions using own initiative
Required Experience:
- 3-5+ years of experience of relevant Heat Treatment, Forging and properties of a wide range of steels, nickel base super alloys, titanium alloys and other alloys
Level of Education:
- S. Degree in Metallurgical/Materials Engineering

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $71,700 to $131,200 US Dollar (USD) Salaried based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company’s Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 2X the Company’s bonus multiple, based on the Company’s performance in the applicable quarter. Employees will receive 120 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company&39;s medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company’s 401(k) plan.
