BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate
- 8+ years of professional experience working hands-on with heavy equipment, heavy equipment operations and/or production maintenance
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Experience operating excavators, loaders, motor graders, dozers, and trenchers to designed grades and elevations
- Experience in field layout and staking using tape measures, string lines, transit levels, and laser levels
- Proficiency in reading construction documents
- Proficiency in calculating percent grade, calculating volumes, and establishing and using site benchmarks
- Experience in performing topographic, construction staking, and as-builts using GPS and/or total station equipment
- Experience installing civil infrastructure such as underground dry and wet utilities and road construction
- Experience with project management of major construction projects including estimating, cost control, schedule, and contractor management
- Experience in directing work in field between trades and contractors, coordinating critical path work to maintain project schedules
- Experience in using AutoCAD or Autodesk Civil 3D
- Valid CDL
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to work at elevated heights (200+ feet)
- Physical effort with lifting and carrying materials or equipment (up to 30 lbs. unassisted)
- Typically exposed to work in extreme outdoor environments – heat, cold, rain
- Work performed in an environment requiring exposure to fumes, odors, and noise
- Must be available to work extended hours and weekends when needed based on site operational needs; flexibility required
- Must be able to climb ladders and work in tight spaces
- Valid driver’s license
- Occasional travel may be required to support projects at other sites

Pay range:
Heavy Equipment Operator/Level 4: $37.00 - $50.00/hour
Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
