Crane Aerospace & Electronics has an exciting opportunity for a Heat Treat/Sandblast Trainee -2nd Shift in the Fluid Management Group at our Elyria, OH location.

Essential Functions:
- Perform diversified heat-treating operations, such as nitriding, hardening, tempering, annealing, and normalizing.
- Perform necessary cleaning operations on all parts as required.
- Finish castings and metal parts to prescribed surface finish.
- Clean and move parts as necessary within the department.
- Pass an annual eye exam.
- Product verification and process control including using necessary measuring devices.
- Keep charts and records as required on completed sequences and processes.
- Perform required rework, secondary operations, routine maintenance per Appendix A, and appropriate safety checks in the department.
- Document all non-conformances through specified data collection procedures.
- Inspect work and verify that product meets all appropriate standards at each operational step.
- Complete all required paperwork.
- Ensure all material is properly cleaned, identified, protected, and stacked prior to movement.
- Work with internal and external customers and suppliers and participate in continuous improvement activities as required.
- Complete all required documentation including but not limited to operator inspection records, job routers, NCR’s, reject tags, move tickets, and stock tickets.
- Perform other duties as assigned by department supervisor.
- Utilize computer to access various databases as required.
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma
- Heat treat experience.
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret heat treat specs, routing sheets, manufacturing outlines, and written instructions.
- Minor mechanical ability to remove and replace circular roll charts and records.
- Basic reading and writing skills.
- Basic math skills such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing.
- Eligibility Requirement: This position may require access to Controlled Data or Information. Where the position requires such access only US persons will be considered. As a US Department of Defense contractor, we are bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
Physical Demands:
- Requires prolonged periods of standing, bending, lifting, and stretching.
- Requires occasional lifting and handling baskets filled with parts weighing up to 50 pounds to a height of 5 feet.
