Ground Security Coordinator
Job Description:

Hours: 40 hrs per week (Work schedules include evenings, weekends and holidays)
Location: Seoul, South Korea
Contract: Permanent
Closing Date: Sunday, 8th February 2026

The Ground Security Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and overseeing aviation security measures in line with local aviation authority requirements, Virgin Atlantic Corporate Security standards and UK Department for Transport regulations. The role works closely with airport-based teams and external stakeholders to ensure full regulatory and corporate compliance.

You will support the implementation and continuous improvement of security measures, providing day-to-day guidance that enables safe, secure and on-time flight operations at ICN. The role plays a key part in overseeing operational performance and ensuring that all security, safety and customer service indicators are met.

You will also lead security related support to the airport team, helping to maintain the safe, secure and punctual delivery of Virgin Atlantic’s flying programme.

  • Own day-to-day aviation security operations at ICN, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulatory and corporate security requirements.

  • Ensuring airline compliance with regulations, overseeing aircraft security, coordinating with authorities, and handling documentation for smooth, secure airport operations.

  • Implement and assure the airline security programme, acting as the primary liaison with local authorities, law enforcement, airport operators and key stakeholders.

  • Lead security performance, including oversight of security staff, risk assessments, unannounced compliance checks and investigation of security incidents or lapses.

  • Maintain accurate security documentation, including training, AEP and service records, ensuring all licences, certifications and manuals remain current.

  • Support Corporate Security, EU Ops and Safety audit activity, contributing to Safety and Security Management Meetings as required.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that support safe, secure and on-time operations, working closely with operational and customer teams.

Do you have in-depth knowledge of international, regional and national aviation security regulations and operations within South Korea? If so, this could be the role for you.

Alongside the above, we are looking for:

  • Strong operational leader with risk management expertise (including IRMA), able to assess complex situations, analyse data quickly, and deliver practical solutions in regulated environments.
  • Completed aviation security-related training and the ability to obtain required security clearances.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and conflict-resolution skills, confident in regulated environments and effective under pressure.
  • Customer-focused and highly organised, able to assess complex situations, deliver practical solutions, and engage teams through change while balancing service, cost, and operational priorities.
  • Proven experience in analysing data quickly and using insights to inform operational decisions.
  • The right to live and work in South Korea.
