How youll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities) The Graduate Intern, Flight Safety Investigations responsibilities include providing support to the Flight Safety Accident/Incident Investigation Team, Flight Operational Quality Assurance (FOQA), and Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP). The data collected through these programs supports Deltas Safety Management System (SMS), which is a cornerstone of Deltas proactive accident and incident prevention system to track, trend and resolve aviation hazards. This position will include exposure to the full investigative process, in which a successful candidate will be responsible for collecting factual data, such as damage data, injury information, meteorological conditions, crew background, human performance data, flight recorder data, and other relevant investigative data.
What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications) Must be enrolled as a graduate student at an accredited university.Attained an undergraduate degree at an accredited university. Must be able to work onsite in our Atlanta, GA office for the duration of the internship. Must have at least a 3.0 or higher GPA. Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data. Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles. Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency. Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.
What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications) 1) the degree should include a specialization in aviation, 2) flight experience, and 3) a passion for safety, 4) proficiency with MS Office applications, especially Excel, Project, Visio, SharePoint, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
