SUMMARY:
The Facilities Tradesman II will be responsible to the Facilities Lead. Performs general and specialized maintenance and repair of building structures and their mechanical, electrical, or sanitary systems. Also performs maintenance and repair of vehicles and Ground Support Equipment.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.0 Perform a variety of electrical trade functions such as the installation, maintenance, or repair of equipment for the utilization of electric energy working from blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications using a variety of electrician’s hand tools and measuring and testing instruments.
2.0 Locate and diagnose trouble in electrical systems or equipment working standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment.
3.0 Service maintenance for various equipment such as man lift, Hobart Power Cart, scissor lift hydraulic systems, fire and sprinkler system, air compressor system, telephone system, computer cabling and systems and etc.
4.0 Maintain heating and cooling units.
5.0 Assist one or more Facilities Technician II in the skilled maintenance trades of plumbing, carpentry and mechanical by performing specific or general duties.
6.0 Perform any work that may be assigned by his/her supervisor.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS: Good working knowledge of all VT Mobile Aerospace systems such as fire and sprinkler system, water system, electrical systems, air and gas systems and heating and cooling systems; good mechanical abilities to learn mechanical systems.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
SUPERVISION: Under direction. Normally performs duties according to his or her
own judgment requesting supervisory assistance only when necessary.
INTERPERSONAL RELATIONS: A moderate level of interpersonal skills is required
to maintain an effective relationship with various departments, co-workers and
supervision.
PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT: Requires easy mobility around all sections of the facility and the dexterity to install various electrical, mechanical, plumbing systems. Must possess the ability to distinguish colors to perform work adequately. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and report to work regularly.
EDUCATION: High School diploma or GED required.

EXPERIENCE: 5 years electrical experience or HVAC certified experience required.
