Unique Skills:

Education and Experience Requirements
NEBOSH Certificate. Ability to operate personal computers, experience with Microsoft Windows/Windows NT and Microsoft Offices Products, Word and Excel. Extensive experience in EHS. Extensive knowledge of ISO

14001, 45001 and Environmental, Health and Safety Legislation.

Position Purpose:

Provide full time environmental health and safety support to the business and ensure that all practices are in compliance with the Company and UK regulatory requirements. Support the development and coordination of ISO 14001 Environmental and OHSAS 18001 Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems.

Job Description

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:

  1. Provide daily guidance and direction in EHS programs at the employee / supervisor level to ensure a common and effective approach. Advise line management of health, safety and environmental matters and manage this process to ensure all advice is incorporated into day to day processes and operations.
  2. Responsible for assisting in the identification of environmental aspects and safety hazards, risk assessments and developing and implementing effective control measure to manage the risks.
  3. Facilitate all forms of risk assessment e.g. general, manual handling, COSHH, fire prevention and act as a final authority where a specialist response is required. in relation to risk assessments performed by others on site.
  4. Maintain and update as needed SOPs for all safe work practices and equipment and utilize them in the day to day training.
  5. Facilitate training on Environmental, Health and Safety topics and improvement processes, by conducting employee orientations, emergency response training and coordination of risk specific training programs.
  6. Provide advice, assist, and audit the operations to ensure that effective EHS is implemented and working.
  7. Develop an EHS Communication Strategy for all levels of staff, to include written information, tool box talks and management briefs.
  8. Ensure inspections by regulatory agencies and accreditation bodies are coordinated and deficiencies minimized and corrected.
  9. Coordinate with the site and corporate leadership on EHS related activities. Advises line management in of health, safety and environmental matters and manages this process to ensure all advice is incorporated into day to day processes and operations.
  10. Maintain all records and documentation associated with the EHS Management System and regulatory requirements.
  11. Assist with maintaining the Business Continuity and Emergency Response Plans & Procedures.
  12. Review accidents and incidents which occur in the area of responsibility and manage internal audits, reporting and managing the corrective/preventive actions.
  13. Conduct occupational health and safety related surveys.

  1. Travel domestically and/or internationally as required. .
