Job Title: Drug and Alcohol Program Assistant

Summary: Kalitta Air’s Drug and Alcohol Program is responsible for all state, federal and international compliance related to drug and alcohol testing. The responsibilities of this program are largely dictated by 49cfr part 40 and 14cfr part 120 which are the DOT and FAA’s regulatory guidelines (respectively). The Drug and Alcohol Program oversees compliance for all company employees stationed in the United States; this requires some travel and the ability to effectively communicate and problem solve in a wide range of scenarios. Must possess the ability to work both independently and within a team. This position reports directly to the Drug and Alcohol Program Manager however all actions and tasks within the program are executed on behalf of the Chief Operating Officer (COO).
Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assist with the day to day tasks of Kalitta Air’s drug and alcohol program
- Become a DOT certified drug and alcohol collector
- Administer drug and alcohol tests as required by federal regulation and company policy
- Assist in the documentation and records retention requirements of the DOT/FAA
- Assist in data collection and reporting as required by federal regulations
- Assist with scheduling and tracking drug/alcohol tests and subsequent results
- Assist with required background checks and new hire paperwork as applicable
- Internal auditing on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis
- This position does require some domestic travel throughout the year.
- Possible on call responsibilities; some nights and weekends as necessary
- Clerical/administrative tasks as needed
Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, must be able to hold a high level of confidentiality, be detail oriented and highly organized. Must be able to sit, stand, climb stairs and travel (both flying and driving).
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelors in aviation, human services, or equivalent experience required
