Kenn Borek Air (KBA) is a diversified worldwide aircraft charter and leasing operation. The Maintenance Department at Kenn Borek Air is actively seeking a motivated individual to fill the position of the Crew Chief.
This role involves supervising maintenance activities on aircraft undergoing heavy maintenance at third-party or company facilities, ensuring adherence to regulations and company policies.
General Description of Position
The title of Crew Chief is given to an engineer who, by virtue of his experience, knowledge, and qualities of leadership, oversees and/or coordinates the maintenance of:
a) an aircraft undergoing heavy maintenance at a third party’s facility that requires oversight to ensure adherence to this manual and timely return to service of the aircraft.
b) an aircraft undergoing heavy maintenance at a Company facility that requires oversight of multiple work crews.
c) a fleet of aircraft not under the direct supervision of a Supervisory Base AME or Crew Chief and operating from the same general location.
A Crew Chief is expected to function as a supervisor when required and to demonstrate initiative, leadership and technical competence at all times.
Specific Responsibilities
1) Shall carry out maintenance in strict conformity with the Canadian Aviation Regulations and Standards, and Company Policies and Procedures.
2) In addition to the duties listed here, shall carry out all applicable duties and responsibilities listed for an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer.
3) Shall supervise all maintenance personnel working on the aircraft or fleet of aircraft, which fall under his control as delegated, and shall ensure that work crews are productive and work tasks are appropriately scheduled to ensure prompt return to service of the aircraft.
4) Shall carry out other duties as assigned by their supervisor.
Pre-employment Drug and Alcohol screening, resulting in a negative test result, is a condition of employment. Screening is provided at KBA expense and will be conducted, where possible, on the first day of employment.
