We are a driven team of experienced and time served Airbus professionals, who strive to ensure the business is benchmark in all its fields and providing top quality service to our customers. The team is made up of time served machinists, tool makers, measurement specialists, joiners, welders and electricians whose specialist skills are required to support the production build. We have many specialist machines/equipment and are also working with the latest technology to improve our processes.We work across all aircraft variants on the site. Networking with customers and stakeholder management is key for us. We are looking for someone confident with really good people skills, who can be self motivated, proactive and willing to learn about the Airbus philosophy.
What you will be doing:
You will delve into the Tooling and Metrology world within Airbus, using your skills to collaborate with teams and drive change and improvement. Your role will place you at the heart of Wing Jig Recertification, Wing Metrology Measurements, and critical aircraft machining tasks. You will gain comprehensive knowledge of all Airbus variants due to our diverse operations. You will interact with various individuals both within the team and across the plant, managing projects related to Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, People, Continuous Improvement, and Strategy.
During this placement, the activities you may undertake will include:
Strategic Thinking: Ability to contribute to long-term strategic planning, including the introduction of new technologies and process improvements.
Management Development: Keen interest in developing management skills through hands-on experience and shadowing opportunities.
Project Delivery: Strong organizational skills with the capability to manage and deliver multiple projects effectively across Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, People, and Continuous Improvement.
Data Studio KPI Development: Proficiency in developing data studio dashboards for critical business KPIs, enabling informed decision-making.
SAP Integration: Willingness to learn and engage with SAP systems to support operational efficiency and data management.
Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a team and with various stakeholders.
Innovative Mindset: Appetite for improvement and the ability to bring innovative ideas to enhance processes and operations.
Your ideas and support will also play a valuable part in defining our long term strategy, including the introduction of new technologies. Working with different areas of the business will help you to develop presentation, networking and stakeholder management skills that will be required and will be valuable in future career opportunities.
You will also learn about Airbus Operating Systems and Lean principles which will be at the forefront of all projects to ensure the best possible outcomes can be achieved.
Requirements:
Our placements are open to Undergraduates only. Therefore it is mandatory for candidates to be an undergraduate for the whole duration of the placement. Please inform your graduation date on your application.

Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the following:
Studying towards a degree in Business, Project Management, Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent;
Good communication and interpersonal skills;
Appetite for improvement and bringing innovative ideas to a situation;
Ability to work as part of a team as well as autonomously;
Organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously;
Willingness to get involved, learn and immerse yourself in the Airbus ways of working;
Good computer and data analysis skills.
