SUMMARY: The Director of Human Resources strategically leads the companys Human Resources operations. This role aligns recruitment, training, compliance, and compensation practices with overall business objectives to create a motivated and compliant workforce.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Oversee and direct overall strategy and ensure processes support the companys mission
• Manage recruiting and staffing practices to attract and retain top talent
• Oversee employee development, performance management, and succession planning
• Ensure regulatory compliance and develop policies that guide operations
• Foster positive employee relations and address conflicts effectively
• Design and administer competitive compensation packages, including workers compensation, pension, and 401(k) plans
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• This role oversees the Human Resources Department
REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelors degree in Business, Human Resources, Organizational Development, or related area
• 10+ years experience of increasing responsibility in Human Resources leadership positions
• Labor relations experience
• Extensive knowledge of health & welfare
• Extensive knowledge of pension plans
• Extensive knowledge of 401(k) administration
• Familiarity and understanding of employment laws and regulations including the Railway Labor Act, EEO, Affirmative Action, ERISA, FMLA, USERRA, wage and hour laws, workplace health & safety and workers compensation
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
PREFERRED:
• Masters Degree in Business, Human Resources or Organizational Development
• SPHR certification
• Financial and accounting knowledge a plus
