ABOUT FEAM:

The Service Check Manager reports to the Director of Base Maintenance and is responsible for the overall maintenance on Customer Aircraft during Service Checks. In the absence of the Service Check Manager the Director of Base Maintenance, may delegate his/her duties to a designee. He / She is responsible for the planning, direction and coordination of activities within his department, and the planning of its activities in conjunction with other departments, as required. 

Job Duties:

  • Assures them that all personnel under their management follow the company’s prescribed safety practices in the performance of their duties. 
  • Assuring that the repair and overhaul of all components and aircraft within his jurisdiction is accomplished within the authority and rating of the repair station and that a qualified inspector inspects the work. 
  • Responsible for interviews, tests, and hires for personnel requirements in their department. 
  • Monitors progress and determines new employee acceptability during probationary period. 
  • Training and assisting subordinates in the proper work procedures and practices to be followed. 
  • Making available to department personnel appropriate tooling and test devices and required technical data on all components and aircraft overhauled or repaired by the Department and making sure the data is current with latest revisions. The data will include manufacturer’s overhaul manuals, service bulletins, parts specifications; related Federal Aviation Administration approved data, AD notes and any other technical data used. 
  • The maintenance of all department equipment and tools in a serviceable working condition, assuring that periodic checks and calibrations are made on test equipment and that current records are maintained of those tests and calibrations through the computerized calibration program maintained by the Logistics Manager. 
  • Ascertaining that the responsible technicians properly execute all necessary maintenance entries on maintenance forms used by the repair station. 
  • The quality of work performed by technicians. 
  • The proper handling of all materials and tagging of removed parts from the aircraft under service and when work is completed all scrap parts are properly disposed of. 
  • Ensure that the Company’s Turnover Log is being utilized and properly filled out in accordance with company policy. 
  • To ensure that the department is kept in a clean and orderly manner. 
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Maintenance (HQ/MIA).

Basic Qualifications

  • Must be able to read and write English.  
  • Must pass airport security background checks and travel for work as required.  
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have a Current Valid Driver’s License. 
  • Must have a current valid FAA Airframe & Powerplant License.
  • Frequently be required to stand, walk, continually utilize hand, and finger dexterity, climb, balance, bend, or crawl, occasionally from heights in precarious places.       
  • Frequently lift/push/carry items up to 50 pounds. 
  • Awareness that he/she will be working near and around moving mechanical parts, around fumes, airborne particles, or toxic chemicals, and exposure to loud noises.  
  • Operate equipment and read technical information.  
  • Exposure to weather conditions outside as well as non-weather conditions such as extreme heat or cold.            

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Aircraft experience preferred on Boeing Wide Bodied Jet aircraft.  
  • Prefer 5 to 10 years of experience leading and managing team on the service of Boeing 37, 47, 57, 67 and 77
  • Good organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
