Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a 2nd Shift General Manufacturing Manager 2 to join our SMT SALT (Space and Autoline Technologies) Team at our new Troy Hill facility in Elkridge, MD.
You will be responsible for the direct supervision of approximately 15-25 represented (union) employees and processes in a manufacturing environment.
You will work independently across organizations; manage the use of consumables to achieve budget targets; assign and manage represented EMS Operators to maximize efficiency and achieve target productive yields; implement our process improvements to improve affordability, quality, and schedule; and perform required SAP/MES transactions to manage Operators and M&P Specialists.
2nd Shift Hours - 2:00pm - 11:30pm
Role Responsibilities:
Direct and coordinate the activities to plan, prepare, issue, and control production schedules, in conjunction with Material Requirements Planning, to meet production/delivery requirements
Oversees the status of work in process, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that equipment, materials, and services are available, as needed
Meeting product cost and schedule targets
Facilitating and leading WCM meetings / projects
Utilizes both internal and external resources, and coordinates cell and functional activities with quality assurance, manufacturing, supply chain, engineering, inventory control, transportation, etc.
Collaborate with engineering and quality to correct issues quickly and/or improve efficiencies in manufacturing
Assigns and manage staff to maximize efficiency and achieve schedule and target productive yields
Performs require SAP/CATS/Workday transactions to manage personnel, planning and financials
Provides specific direction and training, as required
Ensures 5S practices within cell areas
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 8 years of professional experience in Manufacturing, Production, IT or an Engineering environment, Master’s Degree with 6 years of experience in Manufacturing, Production, IT or an Engineering environment (Note, 12 years of relevant work experience in Manufacturing, Production, IT or an Engineering environment may be considered in lieu of degree)
Previous project and personnel management experience
U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret Level Security Clearance is required
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or other STEM area
Prior experience working in a represented (union) environment
Experience with SAP/MES - - Lean Manufacturing Experience
Active U.S. Secret Level Security Clearance or higher

Salary Range: $108,900 - $163,300
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
