Job Summary

 



The General Manager of Passenger and Ground Services is responsible for overseeing all operations related to passenger handling and ground services, ensuring optimal efficiency, compliance, and service quality. This role requires strong leadership skills, operational oversight, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and customer satisfaction.


Compensation

 



Starting at $105,000.00, commensurate with experience 


Responsibilities

 





  • Plans, directs, and coordinates all passenger and ground service activities to ensure optimal use of equipment, facilities, and personnel.


  • Consult with airport management and collaborate with upper management to develop and implement policies and procedures specific to passenger and ground operations.


  • Lead and motivate ground service teams to deliver high-quality service and operational excellence.


  • Analyze daily operational records and financial reports to identify opportunities for increased efficiency and profitability.


  • Recommend and manage capital expenditures for new equipment to enhance service delivery.


  • Oversee and approve requisitions for equipment, materials, and supplies within the limits of the facility budget.


  • Ensure compliance with corporate security programs, TSA legislation, and site-specific security plans, including issuing and monitoring company ID badges.


  • Enforce compliance with administrative policies, safety rules, and governmental regulations.


  • Direct investigations into internal and external complaints related to passenger and ground services.


  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers for equipment and materials as needed.


  • Administer practices fairly and equitably, ensuring all employees, passengers, vendors, and stakeholders are treated with respect and professionalism.


Requirements

 





  • High School Diploma required; Bachelors degree preferred.


  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a related field or industry.  A combination of education and experience may be considered.


  • A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a supervisory role is preferred.


  • Must have strong organizational skills, and written and verbal communication skills.


Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

 





  • Remain in a stationary position 50 of the time.


  • Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.


  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.


  • Walk short distances.


  • Reach above and/or below the shoulder.


  • Handle/grasp documents or office equipment.


  • Sit and/or stand for short or extended periods.


  • Lift/carry/move objects, files and documents up to 10 pounds.


  • Work in an office environment using standard office equipment.


  • Talk, listen, and speak clearly on the telephone.


  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
