SUMMARY:
The Manager Audit & Compliance (QA) shall be responsible to the Director Quality for Quality Systems.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The Manager Audit & Compliance shall be responsible to the Director Quality for Audit & Compliance portions in Quality System.
- The Manager A&C shall plan, direct, lay out and coordinate external audit activities from airworthiness authorities and customers.
- The Manager A&C shall be responsible for overseeing the evaluations of VT MAE’s quality system requirements for compliance with FAA, VT MAE, customer, and other regulatory requirements and evaluating the conformity activities with respect to those requirements.
- In addition, the Manager A&C has the authority and shall:
- Select, train, and assist his/her subordinates in proper procedure, methods, and practices to be followed in each respective duty.
- Follow up on corrective/preventive action items addressing non-conformities
- Coordinate, develop, and implement programs that will enhance productivity and quality for all departments
- Assist those responsible for non-conformity in the determination of the root cause and steps required for both corrective and preventive actions.
- Periodically review past non-conformities and other available data to identify recurring non-conformities and the root causes as opportunities for quality system improvement.
- Assist Training, Production and Quality management in educating personnel on the requirements of the customers and regulatory requirements.
- Interface with VT MAE management and customer representatives or airworthiness authorities as necessary to facilitate program and quality system improvements.
- Perform other job functions as directed by the Quality Director.
JOB SEPCIFICATIONS: Good working knowledge or the ability to acquire skills in the following:
Documented leadership experience, either corporate or military. Proficient with Microsoft Office computer applications; strong writing and presentation skills; proficient skills in organizing, analyzing and preparing reports; excellent communication skills; strong interpersonal skills needed for frequent interaction with customers, Leads, Managers and Directors. Working knowledge of aircraft manuals and related materials; working knowledge of aircraft maintenance and non-destructive testing; knowledge of paperwork procedures including job cards/time cards, routine/non-routine cards, S.R.M.’s, and work sign-off procedures; familiar with F.A.R.’s and company policies and procedures.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Climate controlled environment as well as industrial non-climate-controlled environment.
SUPERVISION: The incumbent normally performs the duty assignment at his or her discretion and is limited only by policies set by administrative or legislative authority. Total end results determine the effectiveness of job performance.
INTERPERSONAL RELATIONS: A strong level of interpersonal skills is required to maintain an effective relationship among employees, various departments, management, and the public.
PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT: Essential responsibilities are performed in a climate-controlled office but not limited to the office. Must be able to cope with stress and mental exhaustion due to the pressures of accomplishing set goals, meeting short deadlines, maintaining numerous projects simultaneously, employee confrontations and long work hours.
EXPERIENCE: Airline experience/aircraft maintenance experience and QA experience preferred.
a. Bachelor degree or equivalent in training, education and/or experience
b. 5 years quality or maintenance supervisory / management experience
c. Airframe and Powerplant license preferred
