Position Summary:
Reporting to the Test Services Lead, the Test Services Technician performs shielding effectiveness testing of materials and EMI/EMC compliance testing for supplied equipment such as Military and Medical devices to various commercial standards including but not limited to MIL-STD-461, DO-160 and IEC61000 family. Interpret results of test data to develop recommendations to customer regarding EMI packaging, mechanical and electrical design, and printed circuit board layout.

- Performs EMI (Electromagnetic Interface)/EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) Testing for the Divisions military and commercial customers.
- Performs Shielding Effectiveness and custom material parameters tests for Division R&D, Applications, and customers.
- Interpret results of EMI tests to be able to make recommendations to customers to solve test failures. The recommendations will include modifications for radiated and conducted emission and immunity problems where Engineering level work is required.
- Prepare, modify, and review EMI test reports, plans and data for customers.
- Works with Divisions R&D team to test new and existing EMI and Thermal material for electric properties.
- Participates in Quality Control program of Test Service Department.
- Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this particular role, it will be performed fulltime on site.
- Other duties may be assigned.
- Use appropriate PPE for designated area.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizen with the ability to get Department of Defense Security Clearance required.
- GED or High School Diploma required.
- Relevant Work Experience: 0-2 years experience in EMI/EMC testing and analysis required.
- Ability to work independently and within a team to meet time sensitive deadlines required.
- Ability to read, write, and understand basic English required
- Bachelors in Electrical Engineering or other engineering discipline preferred.
- Relevant Work Experience: 2+ years experience in EMI/EMC testing and analysis preferred.
- Working knowledge of EMI/EMC Compliance Testing such as MIL-STD-461, DO 160 and IEC61000 family preferred.
- Excellent electrical and Radio Frequency (RF) comprehensions with the ability to understand, describe or discuss problems of a technical nature preferred.
