The Senior Sheet Metal Mechanic (3+ years experience) is responsible for high proficiency in all minor through major repairs, modifications, E.A.s, and with minimal supervision.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Lay out more complicated repairs for pressurized fuselage skins and load carrying primary structure, floor beams, shear ties, circumferential frames etc.
Excellent understanding of SRM repairs, process flow and terminology
Ability to read S/M prints and drawings
Assists/works with level III structures technicians
Be able to perform job functions with little to no questions
Possess basic understanding of aircraft milestones and how maintenance checks should flow
Be able to perform job functions efficiently with negligible re-work
Able to form complicated parts with joggles, curves in annealed material.
Able to locate and ream precision holes/ counter sinks in thicker gage structure and parts.
Able to roto-peen (flap peen) forgings and castings
Ability to use precision measuring equipment on complicated geometric parts
Requirements
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
3+ years recent sheet metal and structural repairs in a heavy maintenance or Regional Jet environment
Prior experience on Boeing 737 highly preferred
Must have minimum required tools
Must be able to obtain SIDA
