JOB TITLE: Senior Sheetmetal Mechanic - Aerospace
LOCATION: Wichita, KS
PAY RATE: $57.00 per hour

Details:
12-month contract with opportunities for extension
Start Date: ASAP (pending contingencies)
Shift: Predominantly 2nd shift, but some may work on other shifts

Summary:
Assemble major structures (fuselage panels, bulkheads, and subassemblies) following engineering specifications.
Perform rework created by other shops; typically not involved in standard in-process work.
Stabilize and balance jack systems and cradles for skin changes.
Remove and replace skins and major MRB not compliant with engineering drawings.
Match drill details to convert skin/structure into the engineering configuration.
Troubleshoot major structural repairs and ensure compliance by replacing necessary parts.
Assemble, install, seal, rig, inspect, and complete precision components per engineering drawings.
Conduct functional tests and correct assemblies to meet fit, form, and function requirements.
Required Skills:
Experience: 10+ years (A&P license not required).
Heavy structure and skin change work experience necessary.
Contractors must handle a high quantity of inspection tags and focus on MRB work.
Note: Candidates must pass a plate test.
Pay Rate: $53-$58 per hour (based on experience).
Safety Requirements:
Full-cover, low-heeled, sturdy shoes required in the shop areas.
Steel-toed shoes/boots required.
Dresses, skirts, and jewelry are not permitted in the shop for safety reasons.
