POSITION SUMMARY:• The Non-Destructive Test (NDT) Inspector will perform radiographic and penetrant inspections on commercial and military aircraft engine accessories and land and marine engine accessories. Digital radiography, 3D x-ray computed tomography (CT), and water washable fluorescent penetrant methods will be utilized to perform non-destructive test inspections.
SHIFT OPTIONS:
- 2nd shift: Monday – Friday from 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM (includes 30 min paid lunch)
- Weekend Shift: Saturday & Sunday ONLY (20 hours per week), 5:00 AM – 3:00 PM (includes 30 min paid lunch)
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:• Principal responsibility of the position is to review hardware, using all listed NDT methods, to assure compliance with quality requirements. • Set up and calibrate equipment, conduct tests, and to interpret, evaluate and document results in accordance with procedures approved by the appropriate Level III.• The individual shall be thoroughly familiar with the scope and limitations of the method in which he or she is certified and shall be able to organize and document NDT results.• The individual shall be familiar with the codes, standards, and other contractual documents that control the methods utilized by Parker GTFSD.• Develops techniques or work instructions from approved general procedures (for digital RT, CT, PT and UT only). The technique or work instruction shall require final approval by the Level III certified in the method.• The individual shall be capable of providing the necessary guidance and/ or supervision to trainees and Level I personnel in the technique/ method in which they are certified.• Willingness to be flexible to meet business needs.• Perform failure analysis, product development, R&D and production utilizing digital RT & CT.• Reconstruct and compile data.
QUALIFICATIONS:• Candidate must currently meet the qualification requirements of NAS-410, and complete the necessary exams required to certify as an NDT Level II for Parker in both Radiographic and Penetrant Inspection within 60-90 days. • Candidates must achieve a minimum score of 80 on the general and specific exams and must detect all discontinuities or conditions specified by the Responsible Level III during the practical examination and achieve a score of 100.• Documented NDT work experience and training must include a minimum of 1600 hours in radiographic inspection (80 hours of formal training) and 400 hours in penetrant inspection (FPI) (32 hours of formal training).• Must be able to pass a near vision 20/25(Snellen) at 16” +/- 1” comprehensive eye exam (natural or corrected).• Must have a GED/High School or higher degree.• A good working knowledge of welding, heat treating and brazing is a plus.• Good knowledge of machining and assembly procedures is a plus.• FAA Repair Station background is a plus.• Must work well with others in a high performing team environment.• Must have good communication and clearly articulate information to others.
ENVIRONMENTAL/ATMOSPHERIC WORKING CONDITIONS:• Tolerate exposure to fumes and level of noise within OSHA standards.
WORK AUTHORIZATION: This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements; therefore, a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 is required. U.S. Citizenship/Permanent Resident is required for most positions.
