In order to support the European Sustainment Engineering Team, Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a
NATO AWACS – Mechanical System Engineer (d/f/m)Airbus Defence and Space is a global leader in military aviation. Together with NATO we are seeking a highly motivated engineer to work in the interdisciplinary field of NATO AWACS E-3A.
We are a small international Team within the Customer Support Organization located in Manching, close to the maintenance shop floor.
We are responsible for the sustainment, reliability and as well for engineering support of the NATO E-3A aircraft.
Our Team intention is to have a safe and reliable NATO AWACS fleet by supporting the customer need. Our mission is to support the NATO AWACS operation.

This will be your Tasks
Within this team of certification engineers you will be a focal point for aircraft systems (not limited to but following areas of system responsibility
(like Hydraulic, Pneumatic, Oxygen, Cooling, Breaks, Water and Waste, Fire Protection - if you prefer ATA Chapters – here you will find some e.g. 21, 25-30, 32, 35, 38).
As part of your new position it is intended that you achieve the role as a certification verification engineer (CVE) for some ATA Chapters.
The daily mission you will have contains
Analysing error reports and preparing solution proposals,
Generation of Service Bulletin or NATO implementation documentation
Review and refine requirments from AC System / Subsystem Level
Preparation and certification of maintenance, inspection and repair concepts
Preparation and evaluation of availability concepts and related analyses
Generate and approve implementation concepts
Elaborating solutions for DMS/DMSMS
In Service Maintenance Optimisation
Support Hazard Assessements
Train and support the customer and colleagues
This role will involve frequent travel for business sometimes at short notice and as such you must be able to travel accordingly.
Required skills
Degree within Aircraft Mechanical Design or Aircraft Heavy Maintenance
Broad experience in aircraft design of commercial aircraft (e.g. A320, A350)
Several years of experience in engineering and or MRO with military or commercial aircraft like NE-3A, JSTAR, P8
Relevant professional experience in aircraft system design and integration
Understanding about certification of flying systems
Knowledge about Requirements Management and Analysis
Sound knowledge of technical support for NAEW & C FORCE FLEET would be a plus
A valid driving license class B is required
A negotiation level of English is required
