Since 2001, Northrop Grumman has delivered Through-Life Support to the Royal Australian Air Force’s 34 Squadron located at RAAF Fairbairn in Canberra. The high-performing Northrop Grumman SPA (Special Purpose Aircraft) team is comprised of approximately 50 staff who provide all levels of maintenance, training and logistics support to the fleet of two Boeing BBJ’s and three Dassault Falcon 7X’s Business Jets.
Your role
As the Maintenance Watch – Tech Officer in our SPA program, youll play a crucial role in managing Deferred Defects across our aircraft fleet. Your responsibilities include conducting thorough research and investigations into all defects, ensuring that the necessary Instructions for Continued Airworthiness (ICA) and parts are available for timely rectification. You’ll work closely with the SPA Continuing Airworthiness Services (CAM Services) group and the SPA Aircraft Maintenance Organisation (AMO) team to ensure that fleet maintenance aligns with regulatory requirements and meets the operational needs of 34 SQN VIP Operations.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for keeping everyone informed, providing regular and timely status updates to both internal and external stakeholders. Your deep understanding of aircraft maintenance documentation, procedures, and regulations will guide your work. You’ll collaborate effectively with various teams, managing competing high-priority tasks to ensure the fleet remains operational and compliant with all standards.
About You
You have a solid background in aviation, holding a degree or diploma in aviation or being qualified as an AME/LAME. You possess a strong understanding of maintenance control systems and the regulations governing aircraft maintenance. Your knowledge extends to project management and stakeholder coordination within regulated environments, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and efficiently.
You’re skilled at communicating effectively across all levels of a multidisciplinary team. Your IT proficiency is evident, with hands-on experience in using aircraft scheduling and maintenance recording systems, along with the MS Office suite (Excel, Word, and Access). Additionally, you’re prepared to obtain and maintain an AGSVA security clearance at baseline level, demonstrating your commitment to both security and the responsibilities of your role.
