Maintenance Mechanic

Job Description:

The primary responsibility of this position will be to support all maintenance and housekeeping related activities related to the sustainment of the facility.Essential Duties and Responsibilities•General: utilize hand tools, power tools & equipment including fork trucks and automobiles to maintain, repair and fabricate items throughout the grounds and facility.•Perform common housekeeping tasks related to a factory environment (i.e. trash removal, recycling, floor and carpet maintenance, painting, assembly of pre-fabricated items, & furniture moving).•Support Industrial Engineers with 5S Initiatives.•Support HR and Employees Club with company events.•Open and close facility if required.•Other duties as assigned

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Note for level:•Capable of assisting senior mechanics with carpentry, electrical and mechanical maintenance•Knowledge of 5S workplace practices.•Willing to work outside in inclement weather conditions.•Capable of climbing ladders, standing prolonged periods, lifting, crouching, shoveling snow & cutting grass.•Team player, and excellent attendance record is a must•Must be able to work flexible hours. Education and/or Experience•High school diploma or GED•1-3 years related experience and/or training: or equivalent combination of education and experience.Examples:•Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, Purchasing or related field and 8+ years purchasing negotiation experience in a fast paced manufacturing sector such as Aerospace, Automotive, High tech, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. •Requires 5 years management or supervisory experience working with a team of 10+ members.Knowledge/Skills•Xxx- note levelExamples:•Bilingual in English and French and/or English and Spanish - Preferred •Must be an initiative taker – Expert•Ability to work in a cross-functional/international team environment - BasicCertificates, Licenses, Registrations N/A
