Status: Hourly Non-Exempt
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions of the job include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Machine parts to specifications using CNC multi-axis equipment such as lathes, milling machines, grinders or EDM.
- Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and calipers.
- Measure and visually inspect completed components in the process to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications using precision instruments based on drawing or work instruction requirements.
- Set up, adjust, and operate all of the manual and CNC machining centers in order to perform precision machining operations.
- Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachment accessories, and materials onto machines.
- Monitor speed and feed rates during the machining process to complete machining efficiently and within tolerances.
- Study sample parts, drawings, or engineering information in order to determine methods and sequences of operations needed to fabricate products and determine product dimensions and tolerances.
- Select the appropriate tools, machines, and materials to be used in preparation for machining work based on work instructions.
- Maintain industrial machines per the required daily, weekly, and monthly preventative maintenance schedule.
- Confer with engineering, technical lead, supervisor, and manufacturing personnel in order to exchange technical information.
- Fit and assemble parts to make or repair machine tooling.
- Perform cleaning requirements at the end of each shift
- Maintain and improve 5s standards for work-center
- Perform other duties as assigned
