Job Summary:
The Inspector will perform highly diversified inspection activities per inspection plans, blueprints, or manufacturing outlines and determine conformance to published specifications using standard inspection equipment.
Essential Functions:
- Create inspection plans in line with manufacturing processes and drawing specifications
- Review product test data for compliance to test specifications and validate with acceptance stamp
- Review respective shipping documents for conformance to contract, purchase orders, and blueprint revisions
- Layout and perform highly diversified experimental and production inspections of various parts/assemblies, tools, fixtures, and measuring equipment
- Prepare and send out raw material samples
- Involves unlimited transfer to NDT/Calibration occupation as required
- Clean and move parts as necessary which are integral to the function the employee is performing
- Perform routine maintenance per Appendix A and appropriate safety checks
- Responsible for product verification and process control including using necessary measuring devices
- Keep charts and records as required on completed sequences and processes
- Document all non-conformances through specified data collection procedures
- Complete all required paperwork
- Insure all material is properly cleaned, identified, protected, and stacked prior to movement
- Work with internal and external customers and suppliers and participate in continuous improvement activities as required
- Complete all required documentation including but not limited to operator inspection records, job routers, NCR’s, reject tags, move tickets, and stock tickets
- Utilize computer to access various databases
- Any other task assigned by your supervisor or management
Non-Essential Functions:
- Perform 5S activities as required
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience: Must have previous CMM experience (new hires only after 5/18/2009) and surface plate inspection experience. Must have completed Inspector Trainee occupation.
- Knowledge: working knowledge of GD&T
- Skills/Abilities:
- Requires basic math skills to make necessary calculations such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing;
- Must have basic knowledge of geometry and trigonometry to perform the job functions
- Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, detail sheets, manufacturing outlines, and written instructions;
- Must be able to use general inspection tools;
- Proficient working computer knowledge.
- Pass an annual eye exam per:
- NEAR VISION: Snellen 14/18 or better (20/25 or better Jaeger Type 2 at 14 inches, Ortho-Rater 8 or equivalent).
- COLOR VISION: Average or normal (4 of 6 responses Titmus, B & L, or AD testing machines, or satisfactory responses when tested with Isihara or Pseudoisochromatic plates).
- Education/Certification: High School diploma or equivalent (new hires after 6/1/2009)
- Eligibility Requirement: This position may require access to Controlled Data or Information. Where the position requires such access only US Persons will be considered. As a US Department of Defense contractor, we are bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
Working Conditions:
- Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment; Greasy, oil environment.
- Manufacturing operations may require the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: eye safety glasses, gowning, masks, hearing protectors, heel/wrist straps and any other required PPE
- May be exposed to unusual environmental conditions such as loud noises, cold temperatures, confined spaces, dust or fumes
- Requires prolonged periods of sitting, standing, bending, lifting, and stretching;
- Requires lifting parts and equipment up to 50 pounds.
