The Opportunity
The Boeing MQ28 - is a globally-significant program that will deliver a disruptive advantage to support Defence operational capabilities. Developed in partnership with the Royal Australian Air Force, it is the first military combat aircraft to be designed, manufactured and assembled in Australia in 50 years.
We are seeking an experienced Ground Support Equipment Technician based at RAAF Base Amberley, Queensland to support this exciting opportunity.
Additionally, this position may also support other exciting programs at Amberley including : C-17A Globemaster, F/A-18F Super Hornet, EA-18G Growler and E-7A Wedgetail.
Responsibilities
The Ground Support Equipment Technician (GSE Tech) is responsible for the induction, maintenance, repair, dispatch, disposal, and assistance to overall management of GSE and Test and Measuring Equipment (T&ME) in support of the MQ28 platform. This position will ensure that equipment is maintained as per the Technical Maintenance Plan and readily available to the technical workforce to maintain aircraft serviceability.
- Induct, Maintain, Manage, and dispose of GSE and T&ME aligned to the Technical Maintenance Plan and on-condition serviceability.
- Assess and rectify faults, including ordering of parts required to facilitate repairs to GSE.
- Document all work correctly in accordance with published procedures, orders and instructions.
- Liaise with and maintain close working relationships with internal and external stakeholders for equipment management
- Assist the MQ28 Platform in the day to day management of GSE and T&ME including the conduct of Electrical Integrity Testing
Experience/Qualifications
- Relevant trade qualifications and experience. (CERT III or above)
- Excellent mechanical and hydraulic skills including preventative maintenance, repairs and fault finding
- Sound understanding of GSE electrical systems
- Electrical Integrity Testing qualified. (Desirable)
- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships at all levels.
- High level of verbal and written communication skills.
- Experienced or knowledge of updating and generating electronic schedules
- Ability to read, interpret, speak and write fluently in English
- Demonstrated computer (and related technology) literacy
Security Clearance
You will be required to successfully undergo the vetting process for a Government security clearance sponsored by BDA. Therefore, you must be willing to disclose all relevant and required information and must have the ability to verify your background for whole of life i.e. birth to present time. More information on the security clearance vetting process is available on the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA) website.
