General Maintenance Technician
Summary
Repairs and maintains, in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer’s specifications, machinery and mechanical equipment, such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, and production machines and equipment, using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring and testing instruments. Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
Essential Job Functions:
- Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools and power tools.
- Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments, using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.
- Repairs or replaces defective parts using hand tools or power tools.
- Lubricates and cleans parts.
- Operate lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
- Initiate purchase order for parts and machines.
- Repair electrical equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance on all test benches, lathes, presses, CNC’s, and all other machines in facility.
- Be ready to repair emergency failures that affect facility.
Qualifications:
- Mechanical background.
- Must possess excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Need to be mechanically orientated and capable of working around fuels and chemicals. Needs to be organized and to practice safe work habits.
- Must follow instructions from tech orders and be able to understand drawings and prints.
Pay Rate: $24.00 hourly
