Position Overview:
- We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Maintenance in general aviation to oversee our maintenance operations.
- The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in aircraft maintenance, with specific expertise in Continental/Lycoming engines, Cirrus aircraft, Cessna, Piper, and some turbine experience.
- As the Director of Maintenance, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety, airworthiness, and reliability of our fleet while upholding our commitment to quality and compliance with regulatory standards.
Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership and direction for the maintenance department, overseeing all aspects of aircraft maintenance operations.
- Manage and coordinate maintenance activities, including scheduled inspections, repairs, modifications, and troubleshooting.
- Ensure compliance with FAA regulations, manufacturer guidelines, and company policies and procedures.
- Develop and implement maintenance programs to optimize aircraft reliability, performance, and longevity.
- Lead a team of skilled technicians and mechanics, fostering a culture of safety, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as flight operations and logistics, to support operational objectives and minimize aircraft downtime.
- Conduct performance evaluations, training, and professional development initiatives for maintenance personnel.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including aircraft logbooks, maintenance logs, and regulatory documentation.
Qualifications:
- FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification required.
- FAA Inspection Authorization (IA) certification required.
- Previous experience as a Director of Maintenance or in a senior leadership role within an aviation maintenance organization preferred.
- Extensive experience working with Lycoming engines, Cirrus aircraft, Cessna, Piper, and some turbine models.
- Strong knowledge of FAA regulations, airworthiness directives, and industry best practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
