ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS, RESPONSIBILITIES, QUALIFICATIONS, CONDITIONS, AND COMPETENCIES To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the listed items satisfactorily Avionics Electrical Assembler I Job Code: 7239G3 Grade: G3 Pay Type: Non-Exempt EEO Classification: Operatives Assists the Supervisor in the production of high-quality aircraft parts & subassemblies following Piper Drawings, Process Specifications (PPS) and other manufacturing instructions. Assists in meeting or exceeding planned production and delivery schedules while maximizing company resources to achieve company goals.
Essential Job Functions: Performs or assists the Supervisor in the following tasks:
• Cut/strip wires, crimp terminals, solder, and connect wires between individual component leads and other components, connectors, terminals, and contact points.
• Use various hand tools such as strippers, cutters, crimpers, and soldering irons, wire routing boards, mark and strip machines, pliers, etc.
• Assemble and attach hardware such as caps, clamps, knobs, and switches to assemblies.
• Inspect and buy off own work using Piper inspection certifications.
• Maintain the department’s compliance with Piper QAM/QIM and FAA requirements.
• Rework discrepancies as necessary.
• Participate in continuous improvement efforts to improve the team’s performance including schedule delivery, reduction of late work, elimination of quality defects & scrap, increasing productivity and generating cost reductions.
• Partner with senior teammates within career path to receive and share practical knowledge for proper training to perform necessary job functions and requirements in order to attain satisfactory levels of performance and production effectivity.
• Adhere and maintain all departmental compliance requirements such as Safety, Environmental Protection, FOD and Tool Control, 5S and other assigned programs.
• Perform duties as assigned by supervision.

• High school diploma or equivalent
- Related avionics electrical experience requirements: Avionics Electrical Assembler I: ≤ 2 years of experience, Avionics Electrical Assembler II: 2 – 5 years of experience o Senior Avionics Electrical Assembler: ≥ 5 years of experience
• Ability to work scheduled shift and hours, including overtime
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Use of hand and power tools as required
• Follow all safety procedures
• Ability to demonstrate sound judgement and effective communication skills (written and verbal).
• Adhere to Piper Drawings, Process Specifications (PPS) and other manufacturing instructions
Physical Demands:
• Demonstrates physical and functional ability to perform full anatomical range of motion to accomplish tasks. Evidence of visual and aural acuity and finger and hand dexterity to operate job specific equipment. Can withstand long periods of sitting, standing and/or constant walking.
