Job Description:
Cirrus Aircraft is currently seeking active Aviation Maintenance Technology (AMT) students attending Lake Superior College interested in an Aviation Maintenance Intern Rotational Program. This is a part-time internship opportunity (16-20 hours per week) based in Duluth, MN.
Recruitment Schedule:
Position Opens: Monday, August 19th
Position Closes: Wednesday, September 4th
Interviews: Thursday, September 5th through Friday, September 13th
Schedule Options:
- Monday through Thursday, 8am-12pm (16 hours per week)
- Monday through Thursday, 8am-1:30pm (20 hours per week)
- Monday through Thursday, 10am-3:30pm (20 hours per week)
- Monday through Thursday 11:30am-3:30pm (16 hours per week)
- Monday through Thursday, 4-9:30pm (20 hours per week)
*Specific placements are subject to individual student schedule needs.
The length of this internship is from mid-September 2024 through May 31st, 2025. Students will receive an offer in one of the following areas:
- Composites
- Wing Bonding- Composites
- Final Assembly
- Flight Line
- SF50 Bonding/Assembly
- SF50 Composite Repair
The Aviation Maintenance Intern Rotational Program is up to 2 years in length. Upon successful completion of the first internship, students will be invited to rotate to an additional area within Cirrus Manufacturing & Maintenance.
You will be trained in installing aircraft components, sub-assemblies, and composite parts. This internship will provide you hands-on experience and exposure to the general aviation manufacturing environment. It will aid your learning experiences and enhance your aviation knowledge as an Aviation Maintenance Technology student. You will play an integral role in creating and constructing the worlds bestselling general aviation aircraft.
Job Duties:
- Inspecting aircraft components, sub-assemblies, and composite parts.
- Following engineering drawings and specifications to install, connect, or bond aircraft parts using adhesives, rivets, or threaded fasteners.
- Ensures fit, clearance, alignment, and functional performance complies with design requirements.
- Preparing and using fixtures to aid in locating, bonding, or drilling aircraft parts.
- Routing wire harnesses in accordance with specifications.
Qualifications:
- Current Aviation Maintenance Technology (AMT) student attending Lake Superior College in Duluth, Minnesota.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
Additional Requirements:
- Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen & background check.
