Morson Edge is recruiting Assembly Fitters to join a well-established aerospace manufacturing environment in Burnley. This is a long-term opportunity within a structured production setting where quality is consistent, processes are clear, and work remains steady.
You’ll be part of a dedicated sheet metal assembly team, contributing to the build of aircraft structures and components to exacting engineering standards.
The Role
You will assemble sheet metal aircraft components using engineering drawings, templates, and fixtures. The role requires strong mechanical fitting ability, attention to detail, and a focus on safe, accurate production.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble sheet metal aircraft components and structures
- Install aerospace fasteners and hardware to specification
- Drill, ream, countersink, and bolt components as required
- Work from engineering drawings, work instructions, and quality standards
- Use hand tools and mechanical equipment safely and effectively
- Maintain housekeeping and adhere to Health & Safety procedures
Requirements
- Time-served apprenticeship in Aircraft Fitting, Sheet Metal, or similar
- Experience within aerospace manufacturing or assembly
- Ability to confidently read and interpret engineering drawings
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Comfortable working within a team-based production environment
