Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for Aircraft Structures Mechanic Level 2/3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This candidate will support our Wet/Dry Outer Wing Panel in the E-2D Manufacturing and Production Organization. This role will be located on site in Saint Augustine, Florida.
This role is for a hands-on person with great attention to detail, top focus on quality and the ability to interface with multiple teams.
Essential Functions:
- Read and understand blueprints
- Translate blueprints into fabrications of structural assemblies to include: precision drilling, countersinking, and the use of calibrated tools
- Aligning parts on jigs using templates and fixtures
- Performing part-fitting operations: filing sawing, burring, crimping, trimming, framing, riveting, drilling and reaming
- Measures parts with micrometers and calipers to verify dimensions
- May modify incomplete and complete assemblies to incorporate changes to structure and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures
- Ability to work flexible, changing shifts, including weekends
- Assemble and install hydraulic systems.
- Assemble and install fuel lines and electrical harnesses.
- Usage of manufacturing shop controls and systems.
- Use of appropriate PPE when working on the shop floor.
- Recommend and implement continuous improvement activities in production methods, equipment performance and team effectiveness.

This role will be filled as either a level 2 or level 3 mechanic based on the required qualifications below.
Basic Qualifications Level 2:
- High School Diploma or GED and 2 years experience with sheet metal structures, hydraulic parts, assemblies, components, manufacturing electrical and/or systems.
- Must be able to perform moderate strenuous physical and repetitious work to include: bending, stooping, kneeling, lifting up to 25 pounds, and working overhead.
- Must be able to access small, confined spaces and work in an enclosed environment.
- The ability to pass Special Medical/Respiratory Exam.
- The ability to work any work schedule and overtime as needed by the business.
- Ability to obtain and maintain Secret DOD clearance in a reasonable amount of time as required by the business.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in aerospace manufacturing new production.
- Completion of an A&P certificate program.
- Experience in Final Assembly.
- Experience with structural subassemblies such as aircraft production wings, rudders, flaps and stabilizers.
- E-2D Experience

Salary Range: $42,000 - $70,000
Salary Range 2: $49,900 - $83,100
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
