The aircraft avionics mechanic I maintains and troubleshoots malfunctions on the MH-47G SOF peculiar aircraft, as it pertains to avionics systems, sub-systems, communications, navigation systems, weapons, aircraft survivability equipment and electrical systems.
Responsibilities
- This mechanic will be required to repair and replace aircraft wiring, replaces aircraft components and trouble shoot aircraft electrical systems as needed or as instructed in the IETM (Interactive Electronic Technical Manual).
- The mechanic will need to be able to use a multi-meter as well as other standard avionic test sets in order to maintain and trouble-shoot aircraft systems.
- This worker reads schematics, interprets maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data, and other specifications to determine feasibility and methods of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.
- This mechanic must be able work independently during travel and while at home station while performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.
- This mechanic must be able to perform administrative actions when it comes to aircraft forms and records on systems being utilized by the organization.
Qualifications
- 6+ years experience in Army aviation.
- Ability to travel 1-2 weeks at a time / complete TDY assignments.
- Ability to make sound decisions when troubleshooting and maintaining avionics systems.
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret schematics and IETMs.
- Maintain aircraft logbook forms and records.
- Experience using multimeters and other applicable tools.
- Ability to obtain / maintain a U.S. DOD Secret clearance, which requires U.S. Citizenship.
