- A minimum of six years performing fighter aircraft maintenance functions in a military environment with at least 4 years F-16, and attainment of an Air Force 7 level (or equivalent) is required.
- Will perform aircraft and equipment maintenance on other assigned MDS aircraft in a highly “cross utilized/trained” environment.
- Will be required to perform at a high level of competency in one or more of the following areas: repair and reclamation, egress, electro/environmental, avionics, wheel & tire, sheet metal, composite repair, propulsion, fuels, AGE, armament, munitions, non-destructive inspection (NDI), and pneudraulics.
- Performs transient aircraft support. CDDAR team chief. Phase dock chief. Engine run certifier. QA augmentation. Wheel & Tire certified.
- Maintains qualifications contained on the Special Certification Roster (SCR) as directed.
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- Working knowledge of principles applying to aircraft systems, concepts and applications of maintenance directives, data reporting, and using technical data is mandatory.
- Knowledge of Air Force supply and efficiency reporting procedures is mandatory
- Knowledge of the proper handling, use, and disposal of hazardous waste and materials is mandatory.
- Must speak, read, write, and understand English
- Must be able to obtain/maintain the security clearance level as mandated by the government customer.
- Must possess a current valid U.S. Driver’s License.
- Must be able to move about both inside aircraft hangars and outside on aircraft ramps within close proximity of running equipment and aircraft.
- Must be reliable, self-motivated, and able to deal with stressful situations and timelines while maintaining a professional and non-confrontational attitude.
Working Conditions:
- The position requires complying with unique commuting/travel requirements.
- Will work in aircraft hangars and outside on aircraft ramps within close proximity of running equipment and aircraft.
- Must be able to work days, nights, weekends, or overtime shifts as required.
- May work outdoors, sometimes in hot or cold weather.
- May be exposed to contaminants.
- May be exposed to hazardous conditions, such as when standing on scaffolding or climbing ladders
- Will be exposed to loud and persistent noise
- Will be required to utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as safety toe footwear, safety glasses, etc.
