Key Responsibilities
- Build and integrate complex mechanical and hydro-mechanical systems, including:
- Fuel Systems
- Landing Gear
- Hydraulics
- Flight Control Systems
- Environmental Control Systems (ECS)
- Coordinate with engineering and leads for assembly and installation with minimal work instructions.
- Adapt to evolving designs and requirements in a dynamic prototype environment.
- Install line-replaceable units (LRUs) and associated mechanical components.
- Perform structural installations, including bonding and fastening on composite structures.
- Interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and work instructions for precise assembly.
- Collaborate with engineering and test teams to troubleshoot and resolve integration issues.
- Maintain high standards of quality and safety throughout the build process.
- Support ongoing maintenance and system readiness during the flight test program starting in 2027, including:
- Component/system installs, replacements, and repairs
- System diagnostics and troubleshooting
- Configuration updates and modifications
- Pre- and post-flight inspections
- Work a dynamic schedule, possibly including afternoon shifts and weekends.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 5+ years hands-on experience in mechanical assembly or related aerospace manufacturing roles.
- Familiarity with AC43.13 and standardized industry practices.
- Knowledge of AS9100 quality management system standards.
- Strong understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, fuel, environmental control, and flight control systems.
- Ability to work independently and solve problems in real-time.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, experimental setting.
- A&P License preferred but not required.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
