As an A&P Mechanic you will:
The A&P Mechanic is responsible for using sound judgement and technical aptitude to make decisions regarding maintenance, sequence and techniques, troubleshooting, and discrepancy resolution. The A&P Mechanic is technically competent on assigned aircraft/engines, and is expected to be able to accomplish the vast majority of his/her duties with minimal supervision. At those facilities where the Senior Technician job title is not in use, the A&P Mechanic may be assigned to lead projects based on expertise, and he/she coaches and oversees the activities of the A&P Mechanic, providing guidance and instruction on proper mechanical procedures and techniques. Customer satisfaction hinges upon sound decisions and expedient action on the part of A&P mechanics. As customers are on site at the facilities, professional appearance and communication skills are required in order to create a positive and lasting professional relationship.
This position is responsible for performing routine maintenance, and major inspections on turbofan and turboprop powered aircraft. Trouble-shooting, repair, and modification of aircraft components and engines is accomplished by this position. In addition, engine removal and reinstallation, operational checks, leak checks, and engine runs are all within the responsibility of the A&P Mechanic.
Responsibilities:
- Removes and reinstalls engines from turbofan and turboprop powered aircraft.
- Performs operation checks and engine runs to ensure air-worthiness prior to departure.
- Inspects aircraft in accordance with OEM Light or Heavy Maintenance manuals.
- Evaluates removed components for serviceability and document discrepancies (squawks).
- Troubleshoot and repair all airframe systems as required (hydraulics, landing gear, etc).
- Removes, balances and reinstalls flight controls.
- Inspects for hidden damage and corrosion.
- Performs mechanical checks of flight controls and a/c systems.
- Documents all work accomplished (a.k.a. sign-off) in a clear, concise and accurate manner.
- Accomplishes Service Bulletins, Repair Letters, and Airworthiness Directives as required.
- Reads and interprets maintenance manual procedures, blueprints, technical manuals, and schematic diagrams when required.
- Analyzes a variety of mechanical problems and determines the cause and best method of repair.
- Tests operation and repairs/adjusts, as required: engines, engine controls and accessories, propellers and controls, landing gear, hydraulic systems and servicing, and flight controls, and adjusts rigging as required.
- Checks and repairs fuel, oil, oxygen, heating, cooling and pressurization systems.
- Responsible for knowing, understanding, following, promoting and continuously improving company policies and procedures.
- Uses hand tools, precision measuring instruments, gauges and calibration test equipment.
- Observes all safety, environmental and general housekeeping rules and policies.
- May perform other duties as required by the department.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in corporate jet experience working on Dassault Falcon, Bombardier Lear, Canadair Challenger, Embraer Legacy or Hawker Beechcraft
Eligibility Requirements:
- A valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant certificate required.
- Must be authorized to work in the US with out sponsorship.
- Demonstrated technical ability on specific airframes and engines in the areas of inspections, maintenance, preventive maintenance, alterations, and repairs.
- Demonstrated ability to locate and apply FAA regulations, Advisory Circulars, Orders, Notices etc.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and plan work activities in an organized manner.
- Must have good interpersonal and verbal skills in order to communicate with customers and employees.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, walk, bend, stretch, and climb ladders.
- Must be able to think clearly, and speak intelligibly on the telephone and in person.
- Must be able to manipulate equipment of all sizes, tools, computer keyboards, and telephones.
- Must be able to work outside in the extreme of temperatures and inclement weather.
- Must have excellent hand-eye coordination.
