The GSE Tech I Fueler at Pegasus Aviation Services is responsible for performing fueling functions and supporting ground service operations. This position involves checking fluids on both motorized and non-motorized equipment, filling deicers, conducting weekly tow bar inspections, and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of ground service equipment. The role operates under close supervision from the GSE Manager and follows established procedures.
Responsibilities
- Perform fueling functions for gasoline and diesel equipment, including checking fluids and filling deicers.
- Conduct weekly tow bar inspections to ensure safety and compliance.
- Safely operate ground service equipment (GSE) and aircraft de-icing equipment.
- Monitor and track equipment performance to identify and proactively address reliability issues.
- Maintain the safety and security of the ramp at all times by adhering to safe ground handling procedures.
- Observe maintenance of ground handling equipment, including performance checks.
- Complete miscellaneous duties as assigned by Manager.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or provide proof of right to work in the U.S.
- High School diploma or GED.
- Willingness to work in inclement weather conditions.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to lift up to 60 pounds comfortably.
- Proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
- Self-starter with the initiative to work without direct supervision.
- Availability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and varying schedules.
- Must successfully complete a background investigation, including FBI fingerprints, criminal history, and pre-employment drug test.
Language Skills:
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, procedure manuals, and schematics.
- Write routine reports and correspondence.
- Speak effectively one-on-one and in group settings.
Math Skills:
- Basic arithmetic skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in various units of measure.

- Apply common sense to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.

Physical Demands:
- Moderate physical demands: the Fueler may occasionally lift or move items up to 200 pounds with assistance, frequently lift or move 70 to 100 pounds, and constantly lift or move up to 50 pounds.
- Regularly required to use hands, talk, hear, bend, stoop, kneel, stand, and walk.
- May require climbing, sitting, and balancing.
- Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
Work Environment:
- Typically works outdoors, exposed to all types of weather conditions, including rain, snow, wind, and extreme temperatures.
- Moderate to high noise levels, with occasional high noise requiring hearing protection, which is provided.
