Machinist

Contract Position
Our Support in Greenville, South Carolina site is the home of the F-16 Fighting Falcon production line and provides nose-to-tail aircraft modification, maintenance, repair and overhaul services for both military and civil aircraft. For more than 35 years, the site has provided world-class and affordable sustainment services to thousands of aircraft, such as the C-130, P-3, KC-10, and C-9.

Responsibilities:
- Set up/programming CNC machines, and perfor quality checks on parts.
- Read blueprints and schematics, understand technical drawings, and have a strong understanding of the principles of machinings.
- Set up and operate plain or universal, horizontal, or vertical milling machines to perform machining operations such as compound angles and contours; boring compound angular holes; doing helical and spiral milling; serrating; and gear, spine, and keyway cutting to exacting tolerances.
- May select, mount, and align various specialized machine attachments and standard or improvised tooling, plan sequence of operations, number of cuts required, and method of setup; determine, set, and adjust speeds, feeds, and depth of cut. Interprets blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications.
- Use a variety of machinists hand tools and precision measuring instruments; makes standard shop computations; and measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points to lay out stock for machining.
Qualifications:
- Extensive experience with programming in MasterCam and experience with Haas machines too.
- May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures
- Master cam programmer
- 6+ years programming complex, tight tolerance parts successfully with MasterCam 18, 19, or 20, or a similar program.
- Proficient in the use of MasterCam or similar CAM programs to effectively create efficient true 5-axis programs for machine tools.
- Areas of Expertise:
- Computerized Numerical Control (CNC) Programming with 4-6 years of experience
- Software Skills:
- MasterCam 18, 19 or 20 with 4-6 years of experience
