Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is seeking an Inspector Machined Parts- Level 4 (CMM Programmer) for our Rolling Meadows, IL facility.
This position acts as the metrology expert for incoming and in-process machined part inspections.
Inspects machined or partially machined parts, using predetermined methods and sequences to ensure compliance with customer and company specifications and quality requirements. Devises setups to measure the accuracy of compound angles, exacting tolerances, and numerous dimensions. Works from drawings, sketches, and specifications. Analyzes defective parts to determine the cause of the defect and recommends corrective action. May determine the method and sequences necessary to perform inspections. Must be able to work extended hours and can work in a fast-paced environment
Must have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Must be able to stand and sit for extended periods.
Basic Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED with 6 years of experience in CMM Inspection and Programming
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret Clearance as well as Program Special access within a reasonable period, as determined by the company to meet its business needs.
- Ability to perform First Article Inspections, Capability Studies, and Gage R&R studies.
- Ability to read blueprints
- Must be able to program and inspect parts from blueprints, and problem solve CMM programming issues.
- Proficient in the operation and setup of mechanical and electrical inspection instruments (calipers, pins and gages, measuring microscope, electronic height gage, profilometer, etc.)
- Basic Computer Skills / Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficient in PC-DMIS metrology software and Hexagon CMMs.
- Advanced GD&T understanding and skill
- Experience working in Defense or Space Industries
- Experience with SAP ERP software
- Experience working in an AS9100-regulated environment

Salary Range: $60,100 - $100,100
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
