The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Purchasing Specialist to join our Supplier Management and Procurement team. This role is responsible for the generation and management of ordering for Insitu Pacific including identifying and soliciting new vendors and various other tasks related to purchasing.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct direct and indirect procurement of goods and services.
  • Support subcontracts specialists in tasks related to higher-value procurement transactions.
  • Sourcing possible suppliers to meet program needs or business ‘gaps and assess suitability for procurement.
  • Conduct basic negotiations in relation to buying terms with vendors (price, quantity, delivery).
  • Management of purchase orders, including expediting orders.
  • Management of inbound deliveries.
  • Set up and continual maintenance of supplier information and provide for safekeeping of all original documentation.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
  • Communicate with suppliers, and stakeholders to identify and resolve issues associated with the procure to pay cycle such as quotes, billing and other documentation discrepancies to ensure compliance.
  • Management of quotations from suppliers.
  • Management of supplier warranty claims and supplier corrective action requests (SCARs).
  • Communicate with stakeholders to identify and resolve issues associated with the procurement cycle.

Experience/Qualifications

Essential

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in purchasing / buying / procurement management and administration
  • Excellent interpersonal, influencing and negotiations skills
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks effectively while working to schedule commitments.
  • The ability to work with a high level of accuracy and autonomy in busy team environment.
  • Proven ability to display a positive and flexible attitude, self-motivated and efficient.
  • Demonstrate ability to meet and adhere to critical deadlines.

Desirable

  • Understanding of Defence Contracting policies and procedures.
  • Professional accreditations: CIPS, ISM, ASCM etc. that are relevant to supply chain.
  • Demonstrated skills in successfully negotiating with suppliers.

Eligibility

  • Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet defence security requirements
  • Able to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance
  • You may require a Foreign Work Authorisation (FWA) in order to perform this role. This is not a requirement set or determined by Boeing but by the Department of Defence under laws issued in 2024. Please refer to the Department of Defence website to understand these requirements.
