GENERAL SUMMARY:
In this hands-on role, youll create high‑quality, custom aircraft interiors that elevate the passenger experience. From seats and sidewalls to carpets, panels, and soft goods, youll transform raw materials into beautifully finished components that meet strict aviation standards for safety, durability, and design.
As an Aircraft Upholstery Technician, youll work with premium materials, precision tooling, and detailed patterns to produce interior components that look exceptional and perform flawlessly. Youll collaborate closely with engineering and maintenance teams, contributing your craftsmanship to aircraft upgrades, refurbishments, and special projects that truly make an impact.

PRIMARY RESPONSBILITIES:
- Fabricate, repair, and install aircraft upholstery components, including seats, sidewalls, curtains, carpets, and soft goods.
- Measure, cut, sew, and assemble materials such as leather, vinyl, foam, and specialty fabrics according to aircraft specifications.
- Remove and reinstall interior components while ensuring proper fit, finish, and alignment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, patterns, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
- Perform pattern layout, stitching, trimming, and finishing work with precision and consistency.
- Inspect materials and finished products for quality, durability, and compliance with industry standards.
- Operate industrial sewing machines, hand tools, and specialty equipment safely and effectively.
- Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and paint teams to meet project schedules.
- Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work environment in compliance with FAA and company regulations.
- Document work completed and update job cards, logs, and maintenance records accurately.
Top candidates will possess:
- High school diploma or GED
- 2+ years related experience in upholstery, trim work, soft-goods fabrication, or sewing in related industries
- Proficiency is cutting, sewing, pattern making, and material assembly
- Strong attention to detail with commitment to producing high-quality craftsmanship
- Ability to read and follow technical drawings, patterns, and written instructions
- Familiarity with a variety of materials including fabrics, hides, foams, and adhesives
- Basic computer skills for documentation and work order entry
- Strong safety awareness and ability to handle tools and materials safely
- Ability to work independently and within a team
Other requirements include:
- Ability to routinely lift up to 50 lbs., work in confined spaces and in noisy environments
- Ability to occasionally travel for work assignments
- Ability to maintain a tool inventory in alignment with shop requirements
- Ability to obtain and retain an airport AOA badge
- Ability to work overtime and various shifts as business needs require

The base hourly range for this role is $30.00 to $42.00 per hour. The pay range provided is a good faith estimate representative of experience levels. Specific compensation for this role will be determined by several factors including but not limited to; minimum and preferred qualifications, knowledge, skills, abilities, education, experience and location.
